Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Mixed Reality are innovative technological terms that are often used for different sets of solutions, interchangeable. They refer to completely different technologies and development methods and experiences.
Let’s explore in this Blog, the difference between AR, VR, and MR.
Augmented Reality
Augmented Reality is a technology that overlays digital content on top of the real world.
AR is experienced through various devices like smartphones, tablets and AR glasses. AR experience is delivered with the usage of the camera on the device to capture the real-world environment and then overlaying the digital content like 3D Models and Animations on top of it. Which in layman terms is widely known as “Augmented Content or Object”, which explains Augmented Reality.
The augmented content after the camera scan can be of any form like 3D Models, Texts, Images, or Videos. AR technology is famously accessed as Mobile Applications for experiences like Gaming, Educational Purpose, Marketing Tools, Advertisement Campaigns, Try-Ons for Retails, Real Estate, Food & Beverage and few more.
Virtual Reality
Virtual Reality is a technology that immersively teleports the User to a completely unique Virtual Environment. The most needed accessibility to experience VR is a VR Headset, that covers the user’s Sight and Ears with handheld Controllers for Virtual World Interaction, Engagement and Experience.
The VR Headsets tracks the user’s Head Movements, Body Movements, and Hand Movements to adjust the display and create the illusion of a completely Virtual World around them. Users can interact with Objects and Environments in the VR World they are put in using the controllers. VR technology is highly in-demand and used in experiences like Gaming, Simulation Trainings, Travel & Tourism, Healthcare Facilities, and Manufacturing.
Mixed Reality
Mixed Reality technology is a Combination of both Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. MR uses headsets like VR does, allowing the users to experience and interact with the Real-World Environment. MR layers the digital content onto the real world and seamlessly integrates it with the user’s surroundings.
MR technology requires advanced sensors and cameras to accurately track the user’s movements and the real-world environment. MR understandings and use cases are still in its early stages, but it has potential applications and solutions for Gaming, Education, and Industrial Training.
Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Mixed Reality are different technologies that offers customized unique experiences as per the need and ask for the digital elevation. AR overlays digital content onto the real world, VR immerses the user in a completely Virtual Environment, and MR blends digital content with the real world. We at The Intellify, are carrying a great enthusiasm and experience to shape your needs and use cases with all these 3 distinctive technologies.
