Facebook to produce Smart Glasses in collaboration with Ray-Ban

Early in September 2020, Facebook has revealed their partnership and collaboration with Ray-Ban to release their first pair of Smart Glasses.

“After spending time with Luxottica (makers of Ray-Ban) team and visiting their factory, I knew that they were the right partner for us to bring the best technology together with the best glasses – Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a Facebook Connect Livestream. ”

Also, it was revealed by Facebook, that this release of Smart Glass will be a single step to their overall AR (Augmented Reality) works. And which now will also be an experimental research prototype known and called as Project Aria.

These glasses will not be for sale, now. This September, Facebook employees will wear this Project Aria glasses as a research model in private and public spaces also at homes in-order to help and form the development in contextualised Augmented Reality. This Smart Glasses will be capable in capturing audio, video, eye-tracking and location data to help in developing its upcoming AR Smart Glass.

Collaboration with Luxottica, will bring in the world-class brand catalogue to the first truly fashionable smart glasses. This Smart Glasses will be a part of its larger expedition into the world of Augmented Reality.
